Common Questions

Business Financing

What types of financing do you offer?

Through our lender network, we can place term loans, equipment financing, SBA loans, hard money loans, business lines of credit, asset-based financing, real estate financing, and ROBS 401k financing for startups. If your business needs capital, chances are there’s a product in our network built for it.

That entirely depends on what the need is for and your goals. Tell us what you’re trying to do (buy equipment, cover a cash gap, purchase property, launch a business) and we’ll match you to the product and lender that fits, instead of you guessing which application to fill out.

ROBS lets you use funds from an existing 401k or retirement account to finance a startup or business purchase without taking an early withdrawal penalty or taking on debt. It’s a strong option for someone who has retirement savings but not a lot of liquid cash, and wants to fund a business without monthly loan payments hanging over them.

Hard money loans are short-term, asset-backed loans, most often used in real estate deals where speed matters more than a low rate. If you need to close fast on a property or a deal that a bank’s timeline can’t accommodate, this is usually the tool for it.

Yes. This is typically structured as a promotional 0% intro rate on business credit cards or lines, lasting anywhere from 6 to 24 months depending on the card or line you qualify for. Once that intro period ends, regular credit card rates apply. Used well, with a clear payoff plan before the promo period ends, this can be one of the cheapest ways to fund a purchase or cover a short-term cash need. And unlike a term loan, you keep ongoing access to that credit line even after the promotional rate expires.

Application Process

What documents will I need?

Requirements vary depending on the loan product, but most start with a completed application and your last 4 months of business bank statements. Depending on the type of financing, additional documents may be requested, such as company financials, an equipment invoice, accounts receivable details, or tax returns. For more specifics by loan type, check out our Financing Options page.

We perform soft credit pulls for approvals, and the majority of lenders in our network do the same. If a specific lender requires a hard pull to issue an offer, we’ll let you know upfront so you can decide whether you want to move forward.

Many of our financing products can fund in as little as 24 to 48 hours. From there, timelines increase with complexity, equipment financing typically runs 3 to 5 weeks, also asset-based loans, SBA loans, and real estate financing involve more moving parts and can take longer depending on the details of the deal. Overall, timelines depend on the loan product and how quickly we get the necessary documents from the borrower.

We review your application, match it against our lender network, and come back to you with the options that actually fit, instead of a single yes or no. You choose the offer that works best for you.

Yes, that’s one of the most common reasons people come to us. A bank decline usually means you didn’t fit their stringent criteria, not that your business isn’t fundable.

Different lenders have different qualification requirements, preferred loan products, and industries they favor. Our job is finding the lender in our network who’s the right match.

It depends on the product, lender and sometimes the borrower profile. Some financing options collect daily, weekly, biweekly, or monthly, while others, like our equipment financing and business term loan products, offer monthly payment options. If you have a specific repayment schedule in mind, just ask, we’ll walk you through what’s available for your situation.

We only work with businesses registered in the U.S., with one exception: Canada. If your business is registered in Canada, we can connect you with Canadian lenders in our network who offer financing for Canadian businesses. Outside of the U.S. and Canada, we’re not able to help at this time.

About New Sage Funding

Are you a direct lender?

No, and we think that’s actually a good thing for you. We’re a business financing broker, which means instead of offering you one product from one lender, we work with a network of 86 lenders to find the option that actually fits your business. If a bank/lender turns you down, that’s often just one lender’s box you didn’t fit into. We look across dozens of them at once.

We’ve proudly served the small business community across the nation since 2018.

Your bank offers you what your bank offers. They need strong financials and time in business. The common saying about banks and lending is that they like to hand out umbrellas out when the sun is shining.  We shop your deal across our network and match you with lenders who actually want your type of business, your credit profile, and your timeline. That means more approvals, better terms, and a lot less wasted time filling out applications that go nowhere.

There’s no cost to you to work with New Sage Funding. We don’t charge fees for financing. Lenders have their own fees as part of their loan terms, but we’re paid directly by the lender for the referral once you’re funded. We never collect or handle any of your money at any point in the transaction.

We work with all industries across the board except the few exclusions such as adult entertainment, gambling, and similar categories that most lenders won’t touch.

Outside of that, if you run a legitimate business, chances are we have a lender in our network built for it.

We work with business owners in all 50 states. Wherever your business is located, we can match you with lenders in our network suited to your state and industry
